Hello and welcome! I fell in love with this lovely Pink House in 2002 when I first walked in the doors… It had such calming and healing energy! In 2008 I started furnishing and updating the apartments one by one.
During the early years, I also worked facilitating, mediating and coaching work teams and families in my home/office and around the northwest. Now, having retired from professional facilitation and mediation and Heart Centered Therapy, I am primarily focused on the Pink Guest House and traveling!
In the spring of 2017 our 7th apartment – the Pink Guest House Cellar – was completed! It is unique and so inviting! A special shout out to Tim, remodeler extraordinaire. He took the vision and made it into a reality! Since that time, we have remodeled the Basque Loft, Retro Bathroom and Cottage and updated the electrical!
Now that these projects are complete, I look forward to more travel! I love checking out ancient architecture and folklore, local markets and street food, with varied methods of transportation including plane, train, bus, bike, foot, sailboat! And my AWD Mini Cooper, LOL! But most of all, I enjoy connecting with nature and animals, the culture and people, having a meal, and sharing stories!
EVERYONE has a powerful story. What is yours?
In late September 2017 I returned from my travels in Egypt, Morocco, and Portugal; February 2018 I stayed at a friend’s orchid farm on the Big Island of Hawaii riding her old rusty bike to favorite snorkeling and swim holes (sadly the farm and the entire area was overcome by Kilauea/Pele lava flow in May that year). February/March 2019 I attended a Spanish school in Puebla, Mexico as a beginner beginner 🙂 and lived with Grandma Martha, her daughters (hijas) and their children (nino’s). Ahora hablo un poquito de espanol! Then in February 2020 I spent the month traveling in stunningly beautiful Ecuador staying in airbnbs, small family hotels and eco-lodges… drinking wine, breaking bread and savoring locro de papa with the lovely Ecuadorians and adventurous people I met from around the world.
Like you, I love staying in small guest houses, airbnb’s, hostels, small furnished lofts, back bedrooms!, tents, cabins, yurts … and sailboats! Still plan to stay in a tree house someday soon 🙂 And maybe buy a camper van!
Then in March 2020 life as we know it shifted. How have these last 3 years impacted you? How have you coped? How are you Changing and Transforming? Through the crazy roller coaster of the last few years, I continue to be CURIOUS. To seek TRUTH. COMMUNITY. CREATIVITY. CONNECTION. JOY. FREEDOM!
How can we each BE the Change we want to SEE in the World?
My grandparents were Cattle Ranchers in Southern Idaho when I was growing up. There was no electricity, a generator as needed, kerosene lamps to read my Nancy Drew mysteries by. While milking cows my sister and I, who normally lived in the “city”, squirted the kitties, grew our veggies in the garden, collected fresh (organic!) eggs in the morning and made fresh ice cream with Grandma in the afternoon. We reluctantly bathed in the icy cold Owyhee River and rode horses while dodging rattle snakes! … Last summer I stayed for a month on a huge Cattle Ranch in a little cabin with my now 5 year old adventure doodle, Ellie! Intentions: Reading, Writing, Drawing, Dreaming, Star Gazing and Exploring the vast Country in North Eastern California. And as often as possible, channeled the wisdom of Grandma. 🙂
I have lived in the Boise area my entire life and am mom to two grown bright independent bilingual daughters and darling twin grand babies! We are all active and world travelers. While you are here in Boise, I am happy to share info on hiking and biking trails, favorite restaurants, small ghost towns, hot springs, favorite outdoor music venues, local wineries… and maybe a cup of coffee or glass of wine! I’d love to hear YOUR stories!
May you enjoy my hometown … and home … as much as I do!
Blessings to you and yours!
